YorksYanks Rumblefest will return in 2012 - YorksYanks raised a total of £2737.22 in the 2010 show season for the charity Help for Heroes and after the success of Rumblefest 2010, were keen to stage the show once again in 2011. The YY events team have been meeting since October 2010 with a view to holding the show on the weekend of the 2nd/3rd July 2011.

To move the show forward it was clear after the success in 2010 that further space would be needed but that the show should maintain its intimate feel. As such YorksYanks provisionally secured the use of further land in addition to, and around The Triton Inn, Brantingham to accommodate the anticipated numbers of exhibitors and general public. The team also actively sought other venues in the surrounding area as a contingency.

Unfortunately despite the best efforts of everyone at YorksYanks, last minute unforeseen changes in circumstances relating to the extra land in Brantingham and the lack of availability at suitable venues in the surrounding area meant that the YY event team has had to take, with regret, the decision not to hold Rumblefest in 2011 but instead to concentrate efforts on bringing you an even bigger, better show in 2012.

Rebecca Parker said on behalf of YY "it was a really hard decision to make not to hold Rumblefest this year and we tried everything within our power to work around the last minute problems we came up against. We didn’t want to hold a show that didn’t meet or exceed the standards we set last year. I think everyone who came last year really enjoyed it and we wanted to make the next show the best that it could be. We don’t like messing people about here at YY so we didn’t start to promote the show, or release any dates or information until we knew for certain we had everything in place, but I’m sure there will be those who assumed that Rumblefest was going ahead this year who will be just as disappointed as we are”.

YorksYanks is continuing to support Help for Heroes in 2011 and in the absence of Rumblefest, will be organising a number of smaller events throughout 2011 as well as attending other shows and events where our members will be raising money for the charity.
